there must be SOMEWHERE that i can enter these three export lines so they are ALLWAYS loaded at startup ..

It depends on what shell you run and how it's set up.

Do a ls -al in your home(~) directory. You should have one of the following files:

.login
.profile
.bash_login
.bash_profile


Whichever you have, put it in that.
