View Full Version : Memory/editing/reading in winex
Okay, so there arn't any sniffers out there for winex, I understand that... Now here's my question.. Do any of you know of a good memory editor/viewer that I could use to just look up the key? (Sorry for the numerous posts, tried to delete the last two to get rid of the spam, but it wouldn't let me)
Is the shoeq project dead? Am I coming in just as it's dying off? There just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of people talking about it.

Nowhere near dead. Maybe a bit slow with the impending holidays, but nowhere near dead. There are still 20-30 posts per day here, mostly in the Helpdesk and Key Sniffer forums.
I'm also pretty sure someone answered your question about a memory reader in your other post about it.

Lotta peeps still using it...

The last post answered my question about a keysniffer, I don't want even that... I just want a debugger or memory editor or something and I'll check the offset myself. :-)

Then get yourself one: http://www.google.com is usually a good spot to start looking for software. Debugger: Use any flavor you like, beginners prefer WinDasm (w32dsm89). Memory Editor: Use any flavor you like, beginners try TSearch.
This isn't the "debugger" forum, nor the "memory editor" forum. Your question doesn't result in a lot of answers (non realy) because you are asking a question you already know the answer to:
1) Would you ask your car dealer for advice on a TV purchase? If no: then you are asking the right question in the wrong forum.
2) The answer to your question is readilly available on numerous and numerous sites and places. By balbbing your question like that you make it clear that you didn't even look around. This indicates that you are not willing to spend any time yourself (mind you: indicates) and people think: "Well if HE isn't willing to spend time to help himself, then why am I going to bother to spend MY time to help HIM?" Be honnest, they have a point.
I assume you are a big boy and can find those kinds of information by yourself... simply use the old grey braincells and http://www.google.com

I searched google, sourceforge, and freshmeat... I'm wondering if such a thing even exists. windasm is a windows program. Don't know about tsearch, but I'll look that up.
Edit: Yes, I realize this isn't a debugger/memory editing forum... It's the keysniffing forum. Which does actually have to do with memory reading; since there isn't a keysniffer out there I was thinking I could do some manual sniffing if I could find a memory reader. I checked emerge(apt-get type utility for gentoo), google, sourceforge, and freshmeat and just didn't see anything.
