At least for some of you.

As the faithful and alert noticed last night, SEQ 4.3.7 was released without fanfare.

Thanks to the wonderful work my Mvern, SEQ is operational... without a key sniffer. Official annoucement of the cvs commit was delayed until this morning to give those that have been paying attention a bit of a cookie for staying faithful. What I would like to see now, is all the whiners and complainers saying that SEQ is dead to NOT download this release. Don't be a hypocrit.

Of course, I know that won't happen. I just want to point out how often people say SEQ is dead, even though it's far from dead. So... with that said, all I have to say is:

NYA NYA NYA PBTPBTPBPTPBPTPBPTPBPTPBPTPBPT!

Everyone please give your thanks and offerings of food, beer and women to Mvern for his tireless effort, producing for us not only a working SEQ, but one that was better than before!

Thank you to the fortitude of those with the amazing amounts of patience and caffeine it must have taken to put this together!

Hats off!

Great to see it back and thanks to the devs.

But do we actually need it now that MySEQ is out? IMHO, MySEQ looks like it's going to be be a better program and better supported.

/bow Mvern, nice work. I really love the fact that it is passive again, and I don't have to hack someones sniffer to get it hidden.

Thanks to all the Devs.

Sixes... SEQ should be very useful for peeps with slow PCs (like me). At least it used to be that way :)

I'm still waiting for my damn qt3.0.5 to compile !! /sigh

How many hours will this take on a PII 300?

I'd give anything to know Mvern IRL so I could watch the master working on this in person...what an amazing job.

And, I LOVE watching these "SEQ is dead" losers eating their words! I knew you folks would tell us when it was dead! :)

Amazing work....I wish there were things we could do to pay you back!

OMG...Mvern and the rest of the SEQ crew are simply AMAZING! You made EQ fun to play again. Sony should really pay you guys. You are doing them a service and they are kicking you in the ass.

Now that SEQ is passive again, I expect people to start sending me spawn logs again. A lot of named for the zones that I dont have. :)

Since there is no spoon, we will have to improvise. Ice Cream (working SEQ) and no spoon means a licking good time. ;-)

Thanks guys

First and Foremost:

This is the best thing to happen to EQ in a LONG-ASS time!!!

Second: I'm at work, and am curious, will this build work with QT2.3.2? Or do I need to upgrade QT first?

Not alot of fan fair, not alot of yelling and screaming, just:

Thanks.

Ratt, Mvern, Fee, et al. Thank you guys very much. Reguardless of the amount of shit you all take every time this thing is broken (particularly for large amounts of time) you have ALWAYS pushed through and turned out an excelent product. Reguarless of whether this thing works for 10 months or 10 hours at a shot, the EQ community owes you guys alot.

Thanks for the fix, I only hope it wasnt to late...

I hope that EQ realises that the harder they push protection the closer they come to a Viable windows version of SEQ...

LOVE YOU GUYS :)

04-22-2003, 09:56 PM
of course the big question then...

i thought the encryption was impossible to crack and that it would take beeelions and beeeelions of years to brute force it.. did they change that part back or did we "find another way"?

showeqnewb
04-23-2003, 04:01 PM
I threw up my earlier post that included thanks and joy but hadnt actually read your post.

I have to say I was one of those hang in there people. As my wife could attest, I checked the web page and would sadly mumble something like *sniff* nope SEQ's not fixed yet...

While I did download the WEQ version and look at it, I hated it and got rid of it... I mean i built a machine just for SEQ.

Thanks Ratt and Myrven (sorry if i misspelled)

Why does it always have to be a competition? I like both projects~

showeqnewb
04-23-2003, 04:54 PM
lol, no competition... but SEQ has been there for me for a LOOOOOONG time.

I dislike the windows version because of the ease to set up and install. Basicly its like saying here EVERYONE use this. The more users they have useing SEQ the more chances of it getting picked on and trouble coming out of it :)

Nickeman
04-24-2003, 09:44 AM
Where is WEQ downloadable?? is it the Myseq???? and the Myseqserver??

Oh crap, I'm out of the EQ loop for about a month and not only have I missed the glorious return of SEQ, I miss another bruhaha about a WSEQ... Time for them to start re-rotating the encryption or something like that huh?

I think not having SEQ made my gaming experience suck and this gives me a reason to actually play again. Thanks devs.
