I am now using 1.15.4 server and 1.9b client with "old" offsets, not the expanded offsets that take advantage of the new server features. It works very nicely.

I haven't been able to get the 1.10 server working. In various attempts I have had the server window open and shut immediately and I have had the server apparently crash.

Finally the question - I see that there is a line, Port=6969, in the 1.10 offsets. Does it have to be that port? I have been using port 5555 in the client config with old offsets which works. Can I change the 1.10 server ini to read "port=5555" to match client config or does that cause problems. I have not tried port 6969 in client config because of my firewall settings. Changing the firewall settings has been a headache for me in the past (he said quietly hoping this display of ignorance won't be held against him)

Thank you

The port listing in the Ini file is used for the 1.10 server. I will be looking into the crashing today.

If you are having the crashing of 1.10, please start using 1.9b and it is hardcoded to use posrt 5555.

If you are using 1.10 with no issues you can change the port from 6969 to whatever port you want to use. For those who have opened port 5555 in a firewall then change the 6969 to 5555 and save the Ini file then launch the server and the set the Client to 5555.

I'm making the Client and Server fully customizable via Ini files vs. hardcodeing settings.

I just changed the ports on both the client and the server to the same number. ie 6969. then used the memory offsets from before, and kept the rest the same. a little laggy, but not bad.

Changing the port the server and client communicate on should have absolutely no bearing on "lag".

Jag is correct.

The Client and Server ports are used for communications between the two apps.

The refresh rate in the Server Ini should be 0 and the Client should be set to 250 or higher.

Thanks MQSEQ2 for a good explanation of the ports. I will continue to use the 1.9B server for the time being. Also, I like the ability to customize via the ini settings

will the old client still work?. i have two computer and play five char at once. the old client had no issues with this. but i'm thinking that because of the newly added features its causeing more stress on the ram cpu. (only a 2.4 amd and 512 ram in each box) really i shouldn't be able to run as much as i do. but i'm just stabing in the dark here for a way to clear the lag.

any input would be totally sweet, just try to be a lamemen as you can.

Yes the old Client should work with the new Offsets. I do think the 1.15.4 Client is faster than any of the previous versions. I know when it comes to populating the Spawn List 1.15.4 is the fastest do to the bulk add and not updating the List until all the Spawns have been added vs. 1 at a time. There are a few other areas theat may be faster as well.
