View Full Version : Global Alerts for MYSEQ 1.15.4

Warrior Mage x3
11-06-2003, 12:32 PM
I've seen in a few post people trying to find either a list of alerts in the new (to MySEQ) format, or instructions on how to make them. Here is a copy of my global.txt file which is most of the names in the game I believe. I got this from editing down BlueAdepts SEQ list, and it works with MYSEQ. This one just has the "Name:" part edited out to work on this version.

Also, if anyone knows what format to put the directions to the WAV alerts in the options screen, let me know.

The problem with doing that way vs separating the are's into each zone filter is the time for it to cycle thru the complete list each time a Spawn occurs. This will kill ya when zoning into a new zone that lets say has 200 Spawns * 100 Filters that is alot of lookups if Spawn 1 is Filter 100 and so on.

The Zone Filters should be used the most with the Global Filters being very small. So when you zone into a zone you may have 5 Zone Filters and 10 Global Filters giving you only 15 Mobs to cycle thru.

Back in 1.13 before the Zone Filters were created there use to be only a single file for all mobs and you could run almost accross ME before you would see any Spawns being drawn on the map.

I've never had that problem on this comp before, dunno if its connection or speed. But I can see where your coming from. My problem is...I'm lazy. I haven't been able to find an already completed list of divided by zone alert files and havent had the inititive to split them all up. Closest I came was blueadepts, but those never worked for me cause they where all in .conf format and 1.15.4 reads txt.

If anyone knows where to get a list of the files for all zones, please let us know here for those that can't use global alerts cause of the lag problem described.

Also, anyone know what format to use for the wav location box in the alerts options?

the .txt and .conf are the exact format. I don't like Unix naming convesion on Windows (long live MS, now I better duck :)). I really changed the name sine .txt is associated to notepad or you favorite editor by defualt and I removed the word filter from the name sine they were already in a filter directory.

Some who knows pearl could easily write a script that could RegEX the list you have and convert it into separate files. If I get a chance I might ask a buddy of mine to see if he has time for it, but it may take awhile for him to get to it.

Now we could use SEQ filter files since they are the same format. If I have time I will look into those filter files.

The SEQ filter files aren't exactly the same format unless you mean they're both text files.

They may look similar for most zones, but they're not. I would explain, but it's easier just to post the comment section from the SEQ source:

# ShowEQ Filter file
#
# If you make changes to this file while running ShowEQ, press F3 in ShowEQ
# to reload and reapply all the filters.
#
# Note: Sections end with a blank line. Make sure the file ends with a blank
# line as well. This file will be updated by the program with changes
# made while running
#
# All entries are POSIX style 'regular expressions' and may be
# optionally followed by a a level range, with a format of:
# <Regular Expression>;<Level Range>
#
# Where <Level Range> may be specified as follows:
# <level> # matches a single level to match
# <min_level>- # match all levels at/above min_level
# -<max_level> # match all levels at/below max_level
# <min_level>-<max_level> # match all levels between min_level and max_level
# # inclusive
#
# Where the <Regular Expression> is matched against a filter string
# constructed as follows (where things in <> are replaced with the
# value specific to the particular item instance):
# Name:<Name>:Race:<Race>:Class:<Class>:NPC:<NPC Value>:X:<X>:Y:<Y>:Z:<Z>:
#
# For spawns that aren't drops/coins the string has the following added to the
# end of the string:
# Light:<Light>:Deity:<Deity Name>:RTeam:<RTeam>:DTeam:<DTeam>:Type:<Type>:
# [GM:]
# Where:
# <Name> is the creatures transformed/pretty name, with numbers removed,
# underscores ("_") replaced with spaces, and articles (a, an, the)
# moved to the end of the name following a comma (",").
# <Race> is the race name as it appears the spawn list (as per races.h).
# <Class> is the class name as it appears in the spawn list
# (as per classes.h)
# <NPC> has a numeric value as follows:
# 0 = Player Spawn
# 1 = NPC Spawn
# 2 = Player Corpse
# 3 = NPC Corpse
# 4 = Unknown Spawn
# 5 = Coin
# 6 = Drop
# <X>, <Y>, <Z> are the coordinates of the MOB
# <Light> is the type of light source the spawn is using, where:
# CDL = Candle
# TR = Torch
# TGS = Tiny Glowing Skull
# SL = Small Lantern
# SoM = Stein of Moggok
# LL = Large Lantern
# FL = Flameless lantern
# GOS = Globe of stars
# LG = Light Globe
# LS = Lightstone, Burnt-out lightstone, wisp stone
# GLS = Greater Lightstone
# FBE = Fire Beatle Eye
# CL = Coldlight
# <Deity> is the deity name (as it appears in deity.h)
# <RTeam> is the Race Team where:
# 1 = Human
# 2 = Elf
# 3 = Dark
# 4 = Short
# 5 = Other
# <DTeam> is the Deity Team where:
# 1 = Good
# 0 = Neutral
# -1 = Evil
# 2 = Other
# <Type> is the spawns body type (as it appears in "typenames.h")
# [GM:] is GM is tacked on the end if the spawn is a GM
#

As you can see, it's possible to get *very* specific with each line of a SEQ filter file and include fields that we currently don't even read from memory (yet).

After I get the my visibility features put back in, my next goal was to make MySEQ able to at least use the SEQ filter files even if all of the options aren't fully supported.

My only fear is that the POSIX style regular expressions are different than the .NET regular expressions. Though I have no idea whether that's even a possibility having not looked into it yet.

*Edit: frickin smilies

That's not the same SEQ filter file I use to use. The one I'm talking about looks exactly like the MySEQ. I know I got the SEQ filters from BlueAdept a long time ago, so I will look them up.

The only entry I'd like to see in the global filter file is an entry which triggers when a GM is in the zone. It must be possible since other 3rd party progs can track GMS

MQSEQ2

You can Add Rare Filters (because it's very Rare to see a GM on ;))

Put GM or GUIDE in the Global Alert file and that should catch the GMs.

Now If you haven't heard yet, you will never be able to catch a GM in zone all the time. They can monitor a zone without being listed as in zone/game. I have personally seen a GM log in as a normal character (because of some stuff going on) and it didn't show them as a GM. The individual who the GM logged into was banned for what he was doing. Also GMs can create mobs and log in as those mobs. I have heard that for or 5 GMs will log in for a GM event and become mobs and mess with folks (I've seen 2 GMs do that).

So with that said just be safe using this program. I can generally tell when other folks are in Zone that is using SEQ/MacroQuest type programs.

Rule 1 Don't tell anyone unless you don't care about being banned.
Rule 2 Don't run straight to a Spawn when it pops, ecspecially if your acccross the zone. I have a Super Tracking Monk that makes Rangers look like they couldn't find there way out of a room with one door any they just need to walk forward hehe.
Rule 3 Don't talk about the hidden spawns that no one can see unless you are using a 3rd party program.
Rule 4 Have fun with the program. Support the project by developing and/or testing.

Putting a GM in the filter would also trigger most of the 'GM vendors' or whatever the NPC's around in several zones are called :(

I know MacroQuest sets a $gm variable, but I also believe I read somewhere that it doesn't work as intended? :(

Is there any way to change the flashing circle size around a rare filter? Sometimes i can barely see them.

I'm planning on adding alot of new options to the Hunt/Caution/Rare. The options will allow you to change the Flashing Color and at the same time I can add additional size for those mobs.

GM stands for Guild Master in MySEQ. When you go to PoK there are alot of GMs in zone. I verified it my going to the Spawn and checking it out. This is based off the Classes.txt file:

Warrior GM
Cleric GM
Paladin GM
Ranger GM
Shandowknight GM
Druid GM
Monk GM
Bard GM
Rogue GM
Shaman GM
Necromancer GM
Wizard GM
Magician GM
Enchanter GM
Beastlord GM
