I get the hourglass on the mouse for about 10 seconds then nothing happens after that.

Newest supplimentary files and server files are used and dumped in c:\wseq2\myseqserverc.
Changing loglevel=1 in the ini does nothing, no log file is generated.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled ms net 1.1.
I'm using a 1week old install of windows xp, all patches on, 2G ram.
The newest 1.X non-test client/server work fine.

I can download a filemonitor program to see what files the server is running if it helps.

Make sure .Nat Framework 1.1 is installed on both the Client and Server machines.

To turn logging on in the Server, edit the Ini file and set the Logging to 1 and then create the Logs directory.

To turn logging on in the Client, use the Options and make sure to set the patchs correctly.

You should get something in the log files without connecting.

Only one machine, but the server program keeps aborting with no message. The 2.0 client starts ok, but with the server part dumping i cannot see how it functions. I uninstalled and reinstalled Net Framework 1.1. The 1.X client/server versions run ok.

MySEQServer.Inii:

No file is created in the Logs directory. I think the program is crashing before it gets to that stage.

Try using Client/Server 2.0.1 and don't use 127.0.0.1 for the Server IP Address.

I got the new client server. The same thing happens.

I dont think the server is ever getting to the point where it reads it's ini file. According to filemon the only ini files it opens are MySEQServer.exe.331c6162.ini and MySEQServer.exe.331c6162.ini.inuse

Make sure the .Exe and the .Ini has the same name. Each .Zip has it's own .Ini and both are needed.

Also try using the Step by Step walk thru that Nova put together.

Those weird ini files i listed were part of Net i think, they are burried in
c:\documents and settings\.....\application data\applicationhistory\. To install i was clearing out the myseqserverc directory and dumping the contents of the server and supplimental zip files. Let me find that step by step and see if it helps. Thank you for you help, and the program too ofcourse.

Found something very interesting. Every time i try to run the 2.0.1 server i get a new entry in the application section of event viewer, doesnt happen with the 1.15.17 server.

Error, event id-2004, source-perfnet, description-Unable to open the Server service. Server performance data will not be returned. Error code returned is in data DWORD 0.

I am using Win XP home with all the latest patches. The install is under 2 weeks old. I dont see a server service listed under the admiin tool.

Ok i got the server service to show up again. It vanished because i removed file and printer sharing off all my network connections and uninstalled it.

With server service running i dont get that entry in the event viewer, but myseq server still aborts prematurely.
