Announcing the release of ShowEQ version 5.8. This release is compatible with Live servers post release for the BS expansion. This fixes a lot of compatibility issues. See the Changelog for details. Obviously, you want this version.

NOTE: This release removes the itemdb functionality. It was way old and would need a lot of work to get back in. If you want to work with items, see the fine work over at EQItems (http://eqitems.13th-floor.org), where you can search for items, embed items in your forums, and even download the entire item database they have collected.

Changelog:

purple (2/15/07)
------------------------
+ Updated version to 5.8
+ Compatibility with TBS expansion
+ Opcodes updated (Zaphod, purple, ieatacid)
+ Structs updated (Zaphod, purple)
+ Regenerated zones, bodytypes, races, staticspells

dohpaZ (2/2/07)
------------------------
+ Updated version to 5.7.0.1
+ Assorted minor tweaks
+ Initial attempt to build with qmake
+ Fix odd crash in packet handling.
+ Normalize some data type usage.
+ Remove ItemDB and related utilities from build since they haven't worked
in a while and would really need a rewrite.
+ Remove gdbm/db3 requirements
+ Update some copyright info.

Fetch the new release from the files section of sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=10131&package_id=13256&release_id=486815). Alternately, ShowEQ source is now available in the Sourceforge subversion repository. The URL to access this release is http://seq.svn.sf.net/svnroot/seq/showeq/tags/v5_8_0_0.

If you have problems with ./configure, try:

$ LIBC=gnu ./configure

If you usually use a package for your distribution, I'm sure they will be along at some point. I haven't seen CeleSEQ around lately, so I don't know if you're going to get FC packages or not.

Thanks again everyone for your help. It is appreciated.

Without SEQ, I probably wouldnt play EQ. Without EQ, I would have a lot more time on my hands to get things done and I would probably have a life. Wait a minute, why Im I thanking you guys again? :D

My ftp server lost 2 drives in 1 day, so I'm offline. So, I put the Debian sid amd64 and i386 packages on slow^H^H^Hsourceforge.

You can download them from the
Section (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=10131&package_id=13256&release_id=486815Files) on SF.
