If I want to avoid messing around with downloading and installing the new gcc can I just go buy the latest over-the-counter version of Redhat, install it and go get the latest and greatest version 4? I'm assuming the latest RH is 7.2.

Thanks Hobo

If you are looking to avoid downloading and compiling the latest gcc, then yes. The latest Over The Counter (OTC) RedHat is 7.2, and it comes with g++3 (make sure to install it). You will still need to compile qt-2.3.2 as it does NOT come with RedHat 7.2 nor is the qt-2.3.1 on the CD compiled with g++ 3. Just follow the directions in this post: http://seq.sourceforge.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70 .

Just to clarify...Isn't qt-2.3.2 automatically installed when you choose "workstation" as your install? I'd do a custom install but I'm not to keen on how to make a proper partition in the Linux environment.

Thanks again!

Is not installed or available when installing RH7.2 only qt-2.3.1
