How to install filters and tell that they're working?
Hi everyone,
I run EQ through wine on my ubuntu10.04 machine, and just got SEQ compiled and working last night. I downloaded the filters from sourceforge but I'm having a hard time understanding exactly how they work. They were extracted to /usr/local/share/showeq, but I have no idea how to tell if they're actually doing anything.
When I start SEQ it tells me that it's looking for filters in my home directory, and does not list /usr/local/share/showeq. Now that the config settings are XML files how would I change this? Or do I even need to change this? None of the options in the filters menu seem to allow me to specify a directory.
Lastly when I load the file manually how can I tell if it's working?
Sorry for the newbish questions, the last time I used SEQ was about 10 years ago and a lot of things have changed. Thanks for reading!

I finally figured it out for those of you in the same situation I am. You create a filters folder in your /home/USER/.showeq directory and place the xml files in there. So the full directory for the files should be:
/home/USER/.showeq/filters/
Now if I could get audio alters working...
