I've noticed that sometimes the missing buff spells come back for a while. I think it has to do with what, or how many, detrimental spells have been cast in the mean time, as I've never seen them...
Oops. found a duplicate topic in development forum.
Are these updates already in CVS? I just browsed the CVS tree and it shows the most recent updates still two months old.

If the status of ShowEQ was Yellow before, it's now "Orange" on the live servers. As anticipated from the test servers, it's mostly broke now on the live servers. It no longer loads the zone map or...
I tried to apply this patch and got the following errors:
[root@RHEQ root]# cd /usr/local/src/ShowEQ-4.3.8d/showeq/src
[root@RHEQ src]# patch < diff.txt
(Stripping trailing CRs from patch.)...
I was having the seq fault problem yesterday after the 6/11 update. I applied the quickpatch.diff posted here and it corrected the problem. Good job guys!

I just started getting the seg fault today as well. Funny thing was that when I started today it worked fine. I zoned several times. However, when I was finished and went to zone back to PoK it...
Hi folks:
I noticed some changes were put into CVS a couple of hours ago, so I downloaded it and the make aborts right away. I did the download with:
cvs...
Is the IP address to monitor in SEQ hard coded? If that's not the problem you can verify that your SEQ box is "seeing" all the network traffic by running the system monitor network option (at least...
I just tried it, and it looks like SEQ is still working. Guess I was wrong. However, one good thing about being a cynic is that if I'm suprised, it's only pleasantly :)
Anyone care to bet whether or not the Thursday patch will break SEQ again? My vote is "YES". Being the paranoid type, I think they have several changes all lined up and pre-tested whose sole...
Hi folks:
I just noticed that ShowEQ status is now green; however I'm getting a compile error right at the begining. I downloaded ShowEQ as of about 00:00 05/20/03 GMT, and did a clean compile...
Oh well, chalk one up for us paranoids. :(
I wouldn't doubt that they have several "tricks" lined up ready to deploy as soon as the developers here get SEQ working. Seems very odd that this patch wasn't announced until just a day before it...
Looks like everything works except spell tracking. Nice to be able to see the mobs again :). I just wanted to verify that the spellcasting wasn't working, and it wasn't that I needed to do...
I think it would be quite difficult to tap into the decoded data stream inside the EQClient code without consequences. You would have to do it in one of two ways, either by passively polling, or by...
Looks like today's patch broke what remained of the SEQ functionality. The player position no longer appears and it no longer tracks the spells you cast. :(
If I'm not mistaken, isn't that what the 3D graphics cards do for you, that is do all the drawing of objects for you? I don't believe that EQ program has to take into account your position relative...

I have the exact same problem you do regarding the performance getting worse and worse the more zones you go through. I'm thinking it's a graphics thing rather than a bandwidth one. ...
ok. I finally tracked down all the packages and got it compiled. They were scattered through various sections of the RH8 package manager thing. I guess the comment that someone made that RH8 was...
Thanks for the help. I installed the package and was able to get the compile going. Unfortunately I'm getting a compile error now. I also had to run configure with "./configure...
OK. I'm having a bit of trouble here with RH8. I saw Fee's comment that RH8 is good to go right out of the box. However, when I tried to compile SEQ I got an error on the ./configure saying...
Additional information. The problem doesn't happen if you don't start SEQ until after the character select screen is up.

I'm giving it a specific IP address to watch for. I'm also seeing these messages BEFORE the character select screen comes up on EQ (I've blanked out the IP address and port info):
