    Question Is this possible

    Is it possible to run seq on only one machine, with vmware or some other software and only one ip-adress ?

    I have installed vmware on my winxp machine (yeah yeah I know)
    then I've installed Mandrake 8.(2) I think it is.
    I've installed seq and everything, BUT I installed it with nat, no other way to get internet access, now, I've changed nat to bridged (now I don't have internet access on linux machine)
    But I still don't get seq to sniff my packages, so back to my question, is it possible ??

    Please read the first few threads in this forum. This question was just asked yesterday.

    Also search on the word "vmware" as there are several threads here.

    I also recommend the FAQ which also happens to have a question on vmware.

    one ip -> PROBABLY NO

    The easy setup implies that you will need vmware in bridged networking mode, so you will need more than one IP assigned. It's very easy to setup the Linux Guest to use DHCP then.

    If you are NOT using PPP or PPPoE (usual on ADSL mono-user) then you COULD PROBABLY use udpecho given that I believe that vmware exposes a virtual adapter to create the NAT.

    PM.

    PS. Please note that says probably, you will need to test it. Also, beside search (which is always good), read the vmware manual, they explain the virtual adapters there.
