    Shoeq running on Ubuntu

I have showeq install and it comes up. I am logged in under root and running as root and eth0 is in promisc mode. I can ping eq client and I am on a switch. Is there any other reason its not working? or some way to test if its just not seeing traffic? only error I see is the Failed to open /usr/local/share/showeq/eqstr_us.txt

ShowEQ wont see the packets on a switch (unless it is managed and has the option to pass packets to other ports). You must have a HUB or make your linux box your gateway.

To complicate things further, some switches do act as hubs when all ports are on the same speed. If search on here, there are a list of hubs and switches that work with SEQ.

Installed fedora 14, and I get the exact same error. Could be the nic card in my HP Pavillion zd8000, shrug.

Are you using the latest tarball?
I haven't played in well over a year, I am not sure if it is up to date. If not, people usually post in the forums on what needs to be updated in order to make it work.

Yes I am running the latest tarball, I even got out my old box I used for showeq years ago. I now am not getting the CRC errors, but getting the segment crash.

The tarball is not up to date. You need to apply all the changes for 2011 from this thread.

I will try to add those changes to a new tarball when I get some time.

Thanks brother, I got skittles now. All is up and running.

I get unhandled net opcode warnings in terminal non stop, but showeq keeps running.
