Any thoughts about the info in latest producers letter

    Hi,

thanks for all the effort you are doing to keep Showeq going. But any of you masterminds have any thoughts about the info of a 64bit client comming next year to EQ?

    https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/...l-2021.278494/

How will that impact both Showeq and MySEQ?

    Cheers

    I can't speak for MySEQ.

For ShowEQ, it depends on what all they change. If this they're just taking the 32-bit code base and compiling it as 64-bit (with whatever minor changes if any are needed), then I don't think it will be a big deal. If they make any big changes, like network protocol, encryption, etc., then we may have some work to do.

Yep - just wait and see. Minimum is probably changing the size of some fields/data structures. Max, brushing up on encryption skills.

Should be able to get a glimpse on the Beta server, since they indicated the client would be pushed there first.

Official announcement is out now. Beta in next couple of weeks, and then test for a least a month before live. https://www.everquest.com/news/sixty...rs-and-clients

I agree, it is too early to tell. If it is just upgrading from 32 to 64 bit, hopefully it wont be that much work. If it is a total revamp of the encryption, network packets, what the client can see and such, then it might be very difficult and near impossible to get it functioning again.

Heading to bed. Have to work another 12...

Thanks a lot for your thoughts, i really hope it will be available after the switch to 64bit. It's so convenient to use, since i got limited playtime i can decide if its worth move into a zone or not

    Keep on the good work!

My bad, I've been out of the loop so long. I had no idea there was a working client for Test.
