I have found how to run ShowEQ without root priv

sudo setcap cap_net_raw,cap_net_admin=eip /usr/local/bin/showeq

bingo no need to sudo showeq anymore

of course you you be running as your user so showeq settings are different than the root one.

of course your going to have to redo this with every recompile
