    how to test network connection

    anyone remind me how to test via command line that a network card in a linux box can see other network traffic?

    Um tcpdump, ping, netstat, traceroute, tracepath?


    But tcpdump is probably what you want.

    i cant remember what it was, but doesnt seem like tcpdump was it.

    whatever it was, it threw astrics across the screen of my linux box anytime i browsed the web on the other pc's on my network
