Been using this awhile, always finding someway of jerry-rigging a fix for it, and up until the latest patch it has worked great.

However seems most have moved on, and am wondering if I should hunker down and try to upgrade to RH7.2 or will there be any hope to continue to fix my older stuff? :D

Reason I am hesitant is that the laptop I use for RH6.1 is old and does not have a CD rom drive. So either I use a network connection and download it, or find floppies *shivers*.

Thanks!

prolly just going to want to go ahead and upgrade to 7.2. i have played around in rh 7.3 and while it has nice new stuff... i couldn't get qt-2.3.2 to compile with gcc3 at all (nor showeq just using pre-compiled qt-2.3.2).

you should probably download all three rh cds to a networked computer, merge the three "RedHat/RPMS" dirs together and just setup a local webserver and point your bootnet.img floppy there.
