Have read and searched just want to be clear

Hi all

I have read for days and may have confused myself more so I will ask to be sure.

If I go buy a 10MB hub non switched and plug the 2 machines into it that have 10/100 cards will that work or do I need something else?

I have a netgear router that the hub will connect to and I have DSL modem.

sorry for the newb question but just one final check before I go back to the store.

Or should I get the netgear DS104 10/100 hub?

sorry again very newb here. asking because they are both 10/100 and dont know how to check or set if that is even possible

If the hub is an actual 10MBs hub, you should be fine, as both cards should auto adjust to 10MBs

You can use the 10/100 Hub as well - if you make sure that all cards run on the same speed - normally autodetect will work, but you can force the cards in the configuration to use a specific modus. With the 10/100 Hub you sould use 100 Mbit Halfduplex ... to get most performance - if you do something else as EQ :D - if not go with the 10 Mbit hub :)
