I am a Linux newbie and a networking newbie, but here is where I am...

I have set up Showeq to function on a seperate box from the two EQ game boxes. The SEQ box OS is Linux Red hat 7.2. I have no problem booting up ShowEQ on it. My problem is that it doesnot sniff anything out. I think and please correct me if I am wrong that this is a networking problem as SEQ seems to work fine...

I have a DSL modem connected to a router then to both EQ boxes and the SEQ Box.

I have edited the Showeq.conf file to make SEQ sniff the wild card address, the router's address and the address of the EQ Box I wanted to sniff. All to no avail.

I do have a hub but do not understand what that would accomplish...

Other information.... I reside in So Cal and my DSL host or provider is Verizon...

Any help would be appreciated

You really should try searching first... your router is a switch... switches dont work.. hubs do work... for more details, search the forums..

I've been reading posts and everything is mention router router router router router router router....

I have no clue about these things but still need help...

Are you saying I should hook it up in this order:

DSL Modem > HUB>SEQ
EQ GAME MACHINE 1
EQ GAME MACHINE 2

the last 3 being all on the hub

thanks for the help
