Compile Error

Ok, I haven't used any version of Linux since Slackware 1.23 Kernel so bear with me...<growl>!

Using Mandrake 8.2 and followed the HOWTO install for Mandrake..

I get to the ./configure and get the following:
(Yes, I've read the INSTALL but it really didn't seem to help or I'm just lost )

checking for pcap_open_live in -lpcap....no
configure: error: cannot find pcap_open_live in libpcap

Linux has come a long ways so I'm relearning much. Any help is appreciated.

use www.rpmfind.net and get the libraries that you dont have installed listed on the installation guide
