Greetings...

I logged out of Mandrak 8.2 and I may have shut of power before it finally logout....

When i turn puter back on and Mandrake starts I get no GUI and just a logon: prompt

I can search directories as if i was in a concel, but unable to do anything more. Is there a command to further boot KDE ..? (Such as typing WIN in windows prompt)

thnx in advance...

Try the Linux.org Howtos at http://www.linux.org or http://www.mandrake.com

Oh man, can't we at least help a LITTLE in the help section?

In my opinion, it is better not to go directly to the graphical login on boot, so you can diagnose problems with X if there are any. Just login at the prompt, and then type

startx

to start KDE.

If you really want to boot to the graphical login, you'll need to change the default runlevel.

This is the SHOWEQ help forum, not the general linux help forum.
