recursive error

Im using a guide for installing seq on mandrake 8.1 soon as I go to compile it "make install" It starts compiling for about 10 minutes then crasshes out with this error: collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: ***[showeq] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/root/showeq/src'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1


This probally isnt enough info so just let me know whatever I left out.

You get no errors on the

make -f Makefile.dist
./configure
make


Steps?

as I go to compile it "make install" It starts compiling for about 10 minutes

make install, compiles for 10 minutes? I highly doubt you made the "make" step. "Make install" typically takes 4 seconds to execute and finish (and that's on a P100 with 16Mb RAM)
