Alerts other than sound?

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to make ShowEQ do an alert other than the sound output? I've tried replacing the esdplay command with the one I want run but it doesn't work and generates an error that looks like it's trying to play the default .wave file.

Any ideas? Is this possible?
