I have had my SEQ setup runnign for awile now, works great, got a Linux box doing IP MASQ for the gateway.

However since implementing this setup I can no longer connect to online games such as Age of Empires etc.

I suppose its because the gateway box does not have the correct ports open?

I found out which ports Age of Empires uses:Initial UDP Connection 6073 Outbound 6073 Inbound
Subsequent UDP Inbound 2302-2400 2302-2400
Subsequent UDP Outbound 2302-2400 2302-2400

Could anyone tell me how to make sure those ports are open.

Thanks

most games work just fine with NAT. however, some stupid game designers just fucking didn't even plan on nat and made it totally more fucking difficult to play their games behind a nat'ing firewall (cough, microsoft, cough).

the problem is their direct play shit.

basically you will need to forward ports from your firewall to your server (not just "open" the ports, but "open and direct" them.

my opinion is to just drop any games that were not designed around nat. if the developer can't be smart enough to plan for that (even old games like halflife work behind a firewall) they don't deserve my money or attention.

netmeeting is another one you will have trouble with, assuming you use that piece of shit software :)
