thats a little old, you might consider using qt-2.3.2 which can be found at ftp.trolltech.com (along with older and newer versions of qt).

If you're downloading a source tarball there is no qt-devel. With RPM you need a devel package, but that's it. Everything that would be in a devel RPM package is part of the source.

the qt-2.0.1.tar.gz will contain the headers and dev stuff
I need.

and why would you be installing such an old version of qt when showeq requires 2.3.2? or are you trying to use the freebsd-ized version from a long time ago?

what cvs checkout line are you using? 'linux", "showeq" or something else?

the "linux" checkout doesn't work anymore. the "showeq" checkout is what is currently used and MIGHT work on freebsd (i don't know, you might be the test case) but the req's for the current "showeq" are WAY not what you listed.

i think it has been a LONG time since anyone really tried it on something that wasn't full blown linux... or it has just been a long time since anyone has posted about it ;)

good luck and tell us if it goes okay :)

Yep.. the version you are trying to install is atleast 1 year old, and will not work with the current EQ protocol. You need to upgrade to the most recent version (which may or may not support BSD). Please see one of the many walkthroughs or FAQs for more information on how to install the latest version.
