Ummm.. no? Why would we? Thats just like asking: "Will we see a perl/python/PL1/FORTRAN version?" or atleast a "GTK+" verion?

what exactly would this achieve?

all mono would give us is a showeq written in c#, which would still only run under linux. If you want to do a full rewrite, be our guest.

I don't know much about Mono, but the microsoft .net runtime environment will run IL (Intermediate Language) generated from any code, including C++.

I guess this shows the differentiation between Linux "gurus" and those who use commercial unix variants every day.

The whole Gnome and KDE projects hold no interest for me. I'm not even a big fan of C++ and its operator overloading.

Proven technology is more important than the "next big thing."
