I accidently screwed up when compiling last time because I'm using Redhat 7.3 instead of 7.2... and that time took almost a whole day to compile on my OLD computer. So I was wondering if someone could email me an already compiled copy of GCC G++ 3.0 or greater.

Also, if this doesn't work I'm planning on trying to install Mandrake 8.1 but I can't find it available for download. Does anyone know where I could find it?

Thanks,

Gabriel

P.S. If you can help me with some help on get this installed, and have a character on The Nameless, I'd be happy to reward you with your choice of items I have (Up to around 5000 platinum in value).

P.P.S. Yes, I read the FAQ...

Umm.. mandrake downloads are on the mandrake site (www.mandrakelinux.com), follow the (suprise!) download link.

I hope the email you listed is not the same email as the one your EQ account is registered on..

Thats where I looked; didn't see 8.1. Haven't checked the mirrors though. I'd PREFER to keep my current linux installation and get that working instead of spending hours downloading the required installation CDs for a different version then spending the time installing and compiling. Reward still stands.

To Casey: Installed gcc-2.96-112.i386.rpm but that gave errors.

And yes, I put down a different email...

The reward is for whomever gives the help that finally gets it working. Sorry I wasn't specific enough.

Hmm.. I'm not sure there ever was a public 8.1.. 8.2 is what you should be using anyway...

There are a large number (10?) of threads on these boards about how to set it up under RedHat 7.3. If that is what you are determined to do, then read one of those threads... you have selected one of the more difficult systems to get ShowEQ up and running on.

That is gcc-2.96 (hence the name), so it isnt going to do anything for you anyways..
