I came up with the idea to make Mod's for EQ.
So you would have your own CUSTOM world to play in.
Ive been working on a program to act as the EQ server.

Now I got it to Receive packets, and send packets to
and from the Client... But I cant figure out the encryption.

When I log on it sends '2 S Y ¬kę£'

So my first questions are...

1.) is everything sent from the client not encrypted, and everything from the server encrypted? Or is everything
from the client & server encrypted?

any information is appriated.

It's already been done- twice. Not sure of the details in the projects, but you can check. One of them is called EQEmu, not sure what the other is called.

But AFAIK, only some of it is encrypted.

There's two Everquest Server Emulators:

EthernalQuest (http://www.hackersquest.org/boards/viewforum.php?f=3) (open source)
EQEmu (http://www.eqemu.net/) (open source aswell)

Edit: Changed the "open source" of EQEmu as Cryonic down below explains, it is open source.

EQEmu is open source or it wouldn't be hostable by sourceforge.net (http://eqemu.sourceforge.net).
