Hi,

i am not sure it helps us in *ANY* way, but i found that news on the EQ-Emu (www.eqemu.net) today

Today's News
PacketCollector v0.7.4

Download from SourceForge

Updated encryption routines. They now brute force crack the zone key instead of reading it from memory. (And PacketCollector can once again be run from a different machine)

-decrypt no longer accepts arguments (previously the key memloc)

Also -decrypt implies a -o on the unencrypted packets (NewSpawn, ZoneSpawns, PlayerProfile)

EthernalQuest Emulator and EQCollector (the data collector that collects data from the life servers) has been working with the latest client software since last Wednesday (23rd).

Doubt both the collection programs would be very helpfull tho. They don't have to decrypt realtime. The scan active memorry (most of it uncrypted) and the bits that still need to be decrypted, they do "afterwards".

PacketCollector does do realtime decryption, it doesnt read memory at all. (v0.7.3 did, but that was a temporary fix for the new encryption) I've been working with fee and my cracking algorthm should be released in a libEQ "soon" (tm).
