OK I have a cable line running into a Linksys Router which in turns runs into a Linksys Switch, and then finally into a Linksys Hub. My computer that will run EQ and my computer that will run SEQ are both on the "hub".

I am aware that Linksys Hubs are in actuality switches. I was wondering if I were to buy a true hub the SEQ will catch the EQ packets. I think it will, but what I am mostly worried about is the fact that the hub will be behind a switch.

Any ideas?

The EQ and SEQ computers must both be connected to the hub (a true hub, not a switch labeled as a hub).

Whatever the hub plugs into in order to reach the internet doesn't matter too much so long as it works.

Like others have posted you could always have your SEQ computer act as a firewall. Then it would have access to all the packets.

Router -> Linux -> Switch -> Computers

As stated, you'll need a true hup or a firewall setup using your linux box.

My setup is just simpley Cable => Router/Switch => hub(real hub) => Computers(Linux/Win).

Rest of my systems I just connect off the router.
