View Full Version : RedHat 8.0 & Something Wicked

Hello

I had ShowEQ working just fine under RedHat 7.2. But since the new ShowEQ came out, and I had security problems, I decided to reformat and install RedHat 8.0.
I HAVE used the search to find out how to install with RedHat 8.0, and followed the directions only to fail at the ./configure stage with a Something Wicked happened in QT.
The install.newbies file included with ShowEQ says not to use QT 3.0.5, but this forum also says that ShowEQ installs right out of the box. Since I followed the instructions, and have searched the forums for similar problems to no avail, I am posting here in hopes to fix my problem, and learn a little more about Linux.

These last few lines do not look like what has been posted before, but this is from a fresh, new install of RedHat 8.0....

BTW, all the searches I ran on "Something Wicked" had to deal with QT 2.3.2

Please offer me a direction, or the right command to research

1) Read your config.log
2) Read the top sticky thread in each forum, labeled:

Wasnt paying that much attention to forum name..... Was reading other posts, and didnt find my answer, so I posted where I was.

This happened to me when I tried to update to 4.3.3

I ended up rebooting my Mandrake box and it fixed it

It's worth a shot.

It's the utlimate IT fix.... It you don't know what it is REBOOT!

Hey! That's a Trademark Microsoft fix! You can't use that in Linux!
