RedHat 8.0 & Something Wicked

I had ShowEQ working just fine under RedHat 7.2. But since the new ShowEQ came out, and I had security problems, I decided to reformat and install RedHat 8.0.
I HAVE used the search to find out how to install with RedHat 8.0, and followed the directions only to fail at the ./configure stage with a Something Wicked happened in QT.
The install.newbies file included with ShowEQ says not to use QT 3.0.5, but this forum also says that ShowEQ installs right out of the box. Since I followed the instructions, and have searched the forums for similar problems to no avail, I am posting here in hopes to fix my problem, and learn a little more about Linux.

These last few lines do not look like what has been posted before, but this is from a fresh, new install of RedHat 8.0....

BTW, all the searches I ran on "Something Wicked" had to deal with QT 2.3.2

Please offer me a direction, or the right command to research

I didn't find Something Wicked in the output... Where is it?


When I had this problem on mine it was because I had two versions installed and it was finding the libs for one and headers for the other (I think). Your looks like it found 3.0.5 for version, but says 3.2 in the headers and lib. Don't know what that's all about.

You may want to DL version 2.3.2 and try it reguardless of what the version 8 RH install says. Always best to go with the devs.

Just do a
./configure --without-qt-validation
and it will work just fine in RH8
