Error when LINUX starts.

After the startx command (RH7.2) when the GUI finally shows up, I get an application erro and none of my windows have the clickable X boxes to close or minimize them, nor do they have the blue bar to move the windows around. For the life of me I have never seen anything like this. It is a fresh load of Linux and everything was working before I replaced and reloaded the drive....anyone seen this and have suggestions?

sounds like you don't have a WM selected.
i suggest you use 'gdm' or 'kdm' to start an X session
