IS there any recomended version of QT to be running? I see the requirements "ShowEQ will now require Qt 3.0.5+"

My Question is should we be running 3.0.6 or 3.1.1?

I did not think this should be in the help forum being I don't really need help, I am sure I can install either of them.

Just curious to what it was coded to work with and tested more with.

Thanks in Advance

I built the newest CVS with 3.0.5 and it's working great for me. I have none of the issues I used to have with it, so I would say 3.0.5 is good to go.

I know there's a command to check which QT version is installed on the machine, would someone mind posting it really quick?

# cd /usr/lib/
# dir qt*

could give you a (crude) indication of all installed QT versions (it's a misconception to think there can only be one version of any software installed, you can theoretically have 10 different versions of QT installed on your computer all side-by-side, living there happilly in coexistance)

Yes, the location where you can get QT from is also covered in the documentation, it's a comfort to know you've actually read it.

If you have a slow cpu you may want to use the 3.0.5 instead of the 3.1.1 as the compile time on 3.1.1 was more than 15 hrs on my 233 P2.

Does the GPS fuctionality work with 3.x.x now?

Previously unless the zone was decoded it would not show your char on the map.

No, sorry, ShowEQ is broken beyond repair and won't be ever fixed again. People tried, but noone was able to... it's a shame... realy. There's no more reason to visit these boards anymore.

On the bright side: You can now use your previous Linux box and install Windows on it and play a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th account on it!

Wow.. If I had no life, sexlife, job, guild I enjoy playing with or wife, I might have just gone ahead and rebuilt my install of SEQ along with the new QT.

But since I do, I didn't. Maybe I should dump all that and be a board troll...

Nah. I would rather think first than shoot off at the mouth/keyboard

(Honest thank you for the answer(SBR), but Mr. S, the list of fixes never mentioned that or the fact GPS worked or not unless you used a sniffer)
