I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but i have an NVidia GeForce2 MX card i've been trying to fix the resolution on..seems to be stuck at 800x600 and i know XP can do 1024x768. So i've downloaded XFree86 rpms as well as new NVidia drivers and GLX and nothing seems to work(thats another story in itself)..Do you suppose that could have broken some links? For clarity, i've included "rpm -qa | grep XFree >> XFree.txt"

i know its a different topic altogether, just wondering if it might have something to do with the configure errors.

i found something interesting in my nvidia driver installer, it seems to have found the same broken sym links..
