Ok im probably going to get scorched for this but here goes.....

Im running mandrake v 9.2. During compile i recive the error libgdbm missing.
So ok load the libdgbm. I run the rpm drake install utility and search for libgdbm, gdbm and several other combinations. Nothing found.
Next I ran the rpmdrake uninstall to see if its loaded search for the libgdbm and nothing found. ok not installed.
I then went out on the web and found an rpm package for libgdbm when i tried to install it i got a conflict error stating the package is already installed?????

Is there another name or something i need to look for?

pls help

Thank you

I have Mandrake 9.2 and the name of the Package for me was libgdbm2-devel-1.8.0-24mdk. You should be able to find it on rpm drake if you select show all packages.

If you check the "Development" box when installing 9.2, you just need to make sure you also install these. You can do so, as slyly mentioned, with rpm drake.

libgdbm2-1.8.0-24mdk
libgdbm2-devel-1.8.0-24mdk
libpcap0-0.7.2-3mdk
libpcap0-devel-0.7.2-3mdk
