I've read every post.

Everything is installed and networked properly, and SEQ compiles fine.

The only thing that does not work, is Alert.

I've tried downloading BlueAdepts .tars and extracting them to /usr/local/share/showeq...

i've tried editing the filters.conf in that file

and i've editing the global.xml in /root/.showeq/filters/
[then I pasted BlueAdept's filters in this file]

but whatever i do, i boot up EQ, check an the alert window, and i get Alerts (0).

I refresh and refilter and so on and so forth,

I have also inserted mobs in the zone that would instantly alert me [were it to go off. ie. Gaurd Ghenus]

Can someone please tell me how to set up my filters so that I can be alerted when mobs spawn?

Thanks a bunch.
Dave

convert them to xml. Do a search on filter2xml or filters2xml.

Am I converting BlueAdept's filters to .xml [the downloaded ones]

or am I looking for .conf's that I already have installed?

Furthermore,

What file should I be looking for these filters in?

/root/.showeq/...

or /usr/local/share/showeq

or /home/dstanzler/seq/showeq

Thanks a bunch,
Dave

did you search on these boards for filter2xml or filters2xml? Most of the answers you are looking for are in those related message threads.

I assume you are converting BlueAdept's filters as SEQ doesn't come with a set of zone filters. They will need to be placed in either /usr/loca/share/showeq/filters or ~/.showeq/filters
