Right after the promt to enter your password, I hit enter and cvs just sits there. Seems to be locking up.

works fine... Are you getting from the correct host... cvs.sourceforge.net...

I was having the same problem and this is what I did to solve it.
Went to /root and did my login from there.
Then I went to my /root/showeq/CVS dir and edited the Root file in there. Mine was set to :pserver:[email protected]:/cvs/seq.
I took out the seq from the string and saved the file, then went back to the /root/showeq dir and did my cvs update.

Seams weird to have this as my first post but oh well.
I timed out a couple of times but just kept trying and it finally did the update.
