This is the first time ive tried to get this up and running so apologies if this has been asked before or im just being dumb.

Okies. Im running client on same PC as the server. I downloaded and installed all the relevant additions to windows prior to starting as suggested in the walkthrough.

I downloaded and unzipped server 1.8 and client 1.10 and installed them. I downloaded all the maps and unzipped them to the maps directory and also downloaded the auto-updater and updated all the offsets as well.

Checked the client settings and they fine. Ran the server, Eq and the client and hit go. The server tells me it has found the connection and shows the correct IP address and a little red dot appears on the centre of my client screen.

However thats it... nothing else happens, no map no spawns no nada. Any help greatly appreciated. Initially i did have a later version of the client but with that I couldnt even manage to get it to connect to the server at all...

You have found 2 quite old versions, so I would recommend getting the latest versions from here:

http://myseq.showeq.net

Originally you had to recompile the server every patch to update the memory offsets, now however it reads this information from an ini file. So after every patch where the eqgame exe has been patched you will require a new set of offsets. Just download them and unzip them into your Server directory and you should be gtg.

If you are using the Live Servers a link to download the offsets can be found on http://myseq.showeq.net

if you are using an emulated server you will need a set of offsets that match the version of the eqgame that you are using.
