OS: Mandrake 10.1

Managed to install fine, program runs.
Once I'm in SEQ however, I'm encountering some problems.

I have set the client IP, and am getting a list of items/characters, but they are all unknown. I see myself there, but I'm detected as a level1 human warrior (which is wrong). Also, the map does not load, but if I manually load the map I can see my correct location.

What am I missing? I've searched the forums, but all posts seem to be somewhat out of date.

Here is my startup output.

Step 1 is always to prove you have a hub and not a switch. I'd start with that!

Also remember that you don't get information right away even if you have a hub - you'll have to zone first, or load SEQ first then EQ.

That was my problem. Just discovered that.
Now to learn how to use it, which looks like it may be a big job too. lol

Thanks

Learn to use your hub, or ShowEQ? I really dont see either as a major project. =P

When I load ShowEQ, even before I zone I get my current position and heading, any moving objects appear as unknowns. But then again, I run ShowEQ for 4 different computers, so I specify an IP address on the commandline.

Since you're giving it the IP, it's already parsing out the packets you are sending to the server (your position and heading, etc.)

By default, SEQ won't know what IP to search for until a server->client packet is detected.

I believe there was a patch today which means that SEQ might not work anyway.

SEQ seems a little overwhelming at first for someone who isn't familiar with all of the intricacies of the game. Like me :)
