router problems

everything has been working fine until i restarted my computer, now eq gives a me a connection error as soon as i double click the shortcut icon and firefox doesnt work anymore, recieving the error connection refused by google.com

i went into my router and turned on DMZ(demilitirize) as thats what their bad support page said to do if some apps cant connect. but nothing i try seems to be working.

i got it working the first time by going neanderthal and just plugging the cords in different order and restarting the hub/router in a different order and then it worked, but now i cant seem to get the trick down again.
right now apps like aim and IE work fine.

wow you have to be friggin kidding me, im kicking myself for hours like some monkey in a cage at the friggin zoo. problem was that EVEN if zone alarm isnt on, it still blocks new applications.

firefox updated recently to 1.0 and eq did also. dont ask me why
