Read the help stickies. In particular, section 4 of:
http://www.showeq.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5482

or
the last paragraph of the Program section here:
http://www.showeq.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5499

What is the IP address of the server?

Are you running a firewall on the computer that the server is running? If so, disable the firewall to see if it works. If that works, you will need to configure the firewall to allow the second (client) computer access. Consult your firewall help info on how to do this.

I doubt it would be the router firewall. It would be a software firewall, like ZoneAlarm, running on the computer that runs EQ that would be the problem.

Again, what is the IP address of the server? Please read the stickies I posted above to determine that information.

Sorry. I'm having trouble trying to convince myself to help you anymore.

I ask you a question and you just ask me the same things over and over.

Someone else can help you, I am done.

1) Inside the MySEQ client, make sure that you put that IP address (192.168.1.100) as the 'server 1' setting (press F1).

2) Then close the client and restart it.

3) You should verify that under Options->Server Selection it now shows '192.168.1.100'.

4) Start the MySEQ server.

5) Push the GO button on the MySEQ client.

It should connect unless you have a software firewall running... but we can cover that next if you still cannot get it to at least connect.

Try following these instructions.

There seems to be something pretty unique about your setup if you are having this many problems trying to get the two computers to see each other. Most people do not have these issues... and if they do it is because they have installed some unique software or they are infected with a virus.

You should be able to open a DOS box on the client computer (Start->Run and enter 'cmd' in the field and press ENTER) and type 'ping 192.168.1.100' and you should see something like:

Reply from 192.168.1.100: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.100: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.100: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

If you do not, type 'ipconfig' and you should see something like this:

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : nc.rr.com
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

Check each number *carefully*.. or better yet, post the results of the two commands here.

The other thing you can do is to disable the Windows Firewall. If you are running Windows XP, and have installed Service Pack 2, you have that Windows Firewall running.

You can temporarily disable it by running Start->Settings ->Control Panel and clicking on Windows Firewall. Turn it OFF and try to connect the client and server. If this works, turn it back on and report back here.

The new offsets get pasted into the file called myseqserver.ini, which is the same folder that the server is in. Open it with notepad:

1) open a DOS box again
2) cd c:\myseq\server (or whereever your server is on your system)
3) notepad myseqserver.ini
4) make the changes to the appropriate lines
5) save the file and exit notepad
6) start the server
7) start the client and push Go

Grats.

I assume you had the client error because you had not installed NETv2.0.
