I've been receive many requests for debian and/or ubuntu packages for showeq. At one time I was active here and did maintain those packages. I have since moved into WoW :-) but I feel I owe the showeq community a place to call "home" for the debian and ubuntu packages. So, I've registered showeq on Ubuntu's Launchpad.

The project: http://launchpad.net/showeq

The project is currently maintained by a "team" called ShowEQ Team, which I am the only member. The team home page is here:

The team: http://launchpad.net/~showeq-team

If you are interested in helping, please register yourself on launchpad and subscribe to the showeq-team.

As a test I pushed a very old release of showeq up to launchpad (showeq-5.9.1.0) to confirm the build-farm can generate packages. For the curious src and binary (i386, amd64) packages are available here:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/showeq-team/ubuntu hardy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/showeq-team/ubuntu hardy main

I'll slowly add bzr repository to the code base, activate bug tracking, and push a modern release of showeq.

** PLEASE NOTE ** I do not play EQ anymore, so I'm really looking for someone to QA the builds and report bugs back to me.

Thanks.

I've converted the maps I used to maintain over to launchpad. They are available here:

https://code.launchpad.net/~showeq-team/showeq/maps-3.0 (https://code.launchpad.net/%7Eshoweq-team/showeq/maps-3.0)

If you are using bzr you get branch/get them from here:

lp:~showeq-team/showeq/maps-3.0

I'm sure they are out of date and I can use some help to get any new maps into the package as well as an updated maps.

Is mapfiend still around? It still maintaining a good set of maps?

If you find any issues with the maps please use launchpad's bug tracker here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/showeq

Finally, you can get the showeq-maps via apt-get by following the instructions here:

https://launchpad.net/~showeq-team/+archive (https://launchpad.net/%7Eshoweq-team/+archive)

Mapfiend is still alive, and I think Fatal (who's still somewhat active here) is still affiliated.
