First; Thanks BlueAdept and everyone else for keeping this going. It's been a loooong time since I played EQ. was amazed this project is still rolling.

So now its 2019, and I am boardish. Was looking to waste more time in EQ. Its been a long time since I compiled showeq. Figured it be simple...

I know i need QT3, I'm guessing my compile errors are due to having a recent version of gcc.

Saw a post about CentOS 7.1, cant seem to be able to download that old distro anymore. I prefer Fedora, but that's bleeding edge.

Question is. What is needed today to get this compiled. Versions and such.

For those who still have this going, any suggestions?

(Not posting the compile errors because I haven't spent enough time working on it, and want to keep this thread more of a getting started reference)

My suggestion is centos 6.10 for the easiest install. You can download it. All versions of centos are available on their website going back to 2.0.

https://wiki.centos.org/Download It shows 8, 7, and 6. I think 6.x, 7.0 and 7.1 all work, I am not sure about editions further out work OTB or not. It has been a while so I am not 100% sure.

I think as long as you can install QT 3 and required packages associated with it, it will work.

ShowEQ also works on raspberry pi. There is a thread on that if you want to see how to do it.
