Help with Mandrake 8.2

Im trying to install the rpm QT package as described in Zaphod's install guide. I'm getting this error when I try to install the rpm's

error: failed dependencies:

libpng.so.2 is needed by qt-gcc3-2.3.2-1
libpng.so.2 is needed by qt-gcc3-devel-2.3.2-1

I'm scratching my head the only libpng I see available is allready installed on my system and is called libpng3 and libpng3-devel and is marked version 2:1.2.1-6mdk

Any help is much appreciated.

I got by that step now I'm seeing this.

I try to make showeq and I was told I'm missing gcc3 and g++3

I get the rpm's for gcc and g++3 3.0.1 and all the dependent files but my system allready has these rpm's installed they are just ver 3.0.4. Do I have to remove everything and install the old versions? I'm getting a conflict with the 3.0.4 versions.

Well I figured it out (looks kinda sheepish) I put two and two together for once.

Basically if anyone else cares all that had to happen was everywhere in the Mandrake 8.1 how-to where it references gcc or g++-3.0.1 just put 3.0.4 and your all set..

Everything compiles nice and neat and works perfect.
