I know this isn't a redhat support board first off, but I was wondering is I could get some help. I have lost my little gnome foot on the bottom left of my menu bar and when I left click where it use to be I see an error message something like no system menu (sorry not at home atm to get the exact wording). I seem to have have problems like this off on and every few weeks where I have to reload redhat from scratch and am wondering what the heck is going on. The system ran windows 98 on it just fine and had zero problems and I have ran test on the drive over 24 hours and it seems to be fine. I am shuting the system down the proper way (not just turning the power off).

So I guess my question is:

1. can I get my little foot back some how?

2. why do things like this keep happing and how can I stop/prevent it?

3. Does Seq run under Kda (think thats it, someone told me its better than gnome /shrug

Yup, runs under KDA too. Both suck equally though :)

Especially since its KDE, not KDA.
