One thing... It is not illegal (DMCA aside for a moment), as in 'against the law' to hack the EQ software client-side. What it is though, is a violation of the EULA -- an agreement between two or...
One other thing to think about... While a keysniffer only needs to look at a particaular spot in RAM (and it's other functions to avoid detection, send the key, etc) to enable the decoding of the...
Random thought... as I didn't see it mentioned on the other threads...
Is there any chance the compression routiene may give us an edge by not adequately compressing something, or by creating a...
I debated the wording on that section of the post. I decided to go with the wording above for one simple reason. VI/SOE programmers aren't complete idiots. I would ASSuME that they used a reasonably...

No shit Sherlock.
Simple mathematics... For each public key, there exists only one private key, that cannot be deduced from...
No flames needed. You bring up an interesting point. Everyone is busy talking about the client side of this equasion. Noone's talking about the server.
(Granted we're still talking of a key space...
I think it's probibly inevitable that SoE will be altering some things in an effort to thwart the keysniffers / SEQ... It's simply a matter of time.
The question here is, is there interest in...

I don't remember it ever taking that log to compile (I think I even also had QT3 compiled on it as well...
Nonetheless, the longest part of getting SEQ up and running is the QT compile. Once it's...
Here's a couple of thoughts to enhance or better illustrate errors....

Change "Anything that the EQ client knows" to "Anything...

FYI - He's not getting very far.
A good bit? Have you seen the actual profile display page - It's all CSS and Javascript.
I'm not saying JS is a bad thing(TM) just that it should be used...
Ah... Magelo's 'Security' strikes again...
Welcome to Javascript and boneheaded coding.
You have to have JS enabled, and you have to make sure you aren't caching _any_ of his pages. Oh, he uses...
Fryfrog,
Try hitting 'enter' when you put your stuff in there. The 3.x SEQ would parse the contents of the box constantly. 4.x only parses it when you hit enter. (Less CPU cycles)
Will also work... If the hub/switch (either end) has an 'uplink' port.
BTW: That cable will probibly only cost you $4-5 in a 3-4 ft segment from most rip-off computer stores.
/em passes the ketchup :)
Ratt,
You lookin' at the right page?

No big deal... Go get an "Ethernet Crossover Cable" and a small 4/6/8 port HUB. Connect the X-Over cable to the hub, and your EQ and SEQ machines to the hub instead of the router/switch.
Um... Most recent entry there is over 1 year old.
Yeah saw that too... of course the description was changed to redirect people to here... which I think is a good idea. ;)
Just me or...?
I can tell you that yes, he did write the map viewer.
Use PHP and MING - There are a few gotcha's but writing it is not all that difficult.
I take it back, just tested with a relatively clean RH7.2 machine with the gcc3 RPMs from the CDs. All seems to be well.
I'll have to test it myself on a clean checkout, but have you tested this against the 3.0.1 distro that came with RedHat? And will this break more then it fixes?
Works as Intended...
