    SafePoint/Pok Port points Patch Updated 10/08/03

    Hi all,

    it took a litte longer than i thought (RL ).
    I made a shellscript that inserts the locations (all i know) into the mapfiles.

    How to do it ?

    Download the attached safeloc.gz-File into a tmp-directory, unzip it, copy the mapfiles from CVS or your seq-dir into the same dir, change into that dir and execute the safeloc-script.

    ./safeloc

    Be sure to make the safeloc-sript executable

    chmod +x safeloc

    The script creates first a *.map.SFLOC file which are backups from the original maps. and patches then the map-files.
    After that copy the map-files back into your seq-dir.

    Runways can do that in the seq-dir of course

    The locations are roughly check, but most from web-research and informations on this board.
    If you find errors plz post them here with zonename and correct location - I will update the file then.
    If anybody has the locs that are missing plz post them too. (missing zones at the end of the posting)

    What happens if there's already a succor point in the map? *by using the ./safeloc in the past for instance* Will it add yet another Succor Point?

    The script deletes the line with Succor Point before inserting the new Line - so you can do updates too.

    I took your script and modified it a bit. It's now a perl script that reads a .cfg file. The .cfg file can be edited with vi or whatever you want to add/change points. It's just a bit more straight forward.

    The next revision will have the ability to have mutliple "tags" incase you have something custom you care about the rest of the community may not that yu'd like to apply after the new maps are released.

    Blueadept has it and i believed uploaded on his site.

    There wasn't anything wrong with yours, just potential problems when it gets alot longer as well as maintaining with more maps...

    I mainly started it when I thought about adding in some other points I like (mapping my favorite camps in certain zones, etc).

    Perhaps a Developer can import the locations into CVS ?

    PoG Succor point

    PoG succor location is the entrance. You Succor on top of the Whirling Energy mobs at the zone in point, not a safe spot if you hunt in that zone.

    Howling Stones is also the zone in point.

    Sorry I don't have the exact coords right now because I am not in game but when I get them I will re-post
