Segmentation Fault

When I try to launch ShowEq i get the following message:

ShowEQ 4.0.0, released under the GPL.
Using config file '/usr/local/share/showeq/showeq.conf'
loading filters from '/usr/local/share/showeq/filters.conf'
Error opening /usr/local/share/showeq/spawnlog.txt: Permission denied

(spawn logging disabled) Initializing Packet Capture Thread:

Filtering packets on device eth0, IP host blah.blah.blah.blah
Segmentation Fault

any ideas o gods of show eq? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well since you got a permission denied error on the spawnlog file I am guessing you are not running showeq as root.

I believe you must run showeq as root to gain promiscuous mode access to your ethernet driver (which is the whole basis of showeq).

You were tottaly right on that, i was able to launch ShowEQ now but for some reason it still isnt working right.

i get this error when it starts but it still loads:

Session Management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.


Not sure what that means.. do you?
