Cartography Maps - disabled in some zones

Sony Cartography is disabled (even with seq map files) in:

    Sol Ro Tower (confirmed)
    Plane of Air (confirmed)
    Plane of Water (confirmed)
    Plane of Earth (assumed)
    Plane of Fire (confirmed)

    [edit: thanks for info ]
    Ssra (confirmed)
    VexThal (confirmed)

Converted maps worked in the rest of the POP zones i checked:

    Crypt of Decay (confirmed)
    Tactics (confirmed)
    Halls of Honor (Confirmed)

Some of the maps are hard to read, cause they were designed for SEQ dark background instead of Sony's 'parchment' background. Other than that, they seem to work well.

If you find them hard to read with the parchment background, just turn the parchment off and make the window tint color black.

VT and Ssra also have disabled cartography.

    Got a question....

In the beginning post of this thread, I read:

When you say converted, what exactly is needed to be done?

    Disabled....

I read a post, and will attempt to re-locate it and edit this post. It was on the official EQ sight. It states that some zones will require some sort of regent to activate the map for that zone. Each zone will take its own regent, and I am not sure how it will work as of yet.

If you already knew this, Im glad you did. Some peeps did not.

P.S. Damn, reading this forum just keeps peeps on the defensive so much. :-)

    Duh!

Well no one has said it yet, but... DUH!

    from http://everquest.station.sony.com/le...artography.jsp

EverQuest®: The Legacy of Ykesha™ will introduce cartography to Norrath. Any character will be able to use the cartography system if the player owns The Legacy of Ykesha extension (meaning that there is no 'trade skill' required, though some zones may require special parchments on which to draw maps).

    Question

When zoning in to ToV and open the map is say disable for this zone, but when I reload my Custom Skin while inside ToV the map for ToV is displayed. I am using the color maps created with Cattj's map conversion app. I am not sure if this work in othere zones where the map are diabled. Guess this is another bug with EQ.

    It's a feature. Not a bug :P

And now that it's been made public, I'm sure it will be fixed.

    As it was.

Thanks to the "one post wonders" who feel the need to let the cat (one t) out of the bag, oh well.

So where do we find these "special" parchments?

I think one of the safehouse SOE groupies(Vaslin) said that the "special parchments" they are referring to = paper(the RL kind)..

I took it as an endorsement by SOE to use SEQ or like products...
