    ***decryption Disabled***

    Hello, linux noob here.

I am tryin go run SEQ 3.1.2 on a Mandrake 8.0
I have all the rpm's needed.
    I have libEQ.a with md5sum of a38ceb68b70e0bc2ea27a5147fa50f73 libEQ.a

    It is in usr/local/lib

SEQ compiles fine with no errors.
but when I run it I get this error messege.

    ---------------------------------------------
    ./showeq
ShowEQ 3.1.2, release under the GPL
    using config file 'usr/local/share/showeq/showeq.conf'
Disabling decoder due to showeq.conf preferences
    ***DECRYPTION DISABLED***

Decoder has been manually disabled by either -b, the BrokenDecode option, or a missing libEQ.a library.

(there should be a more detailed message above)
    Loading filters from 'usr/local/share/showeq/filter.conf'
opening packet capture on device eth0, IP host 192.168.1.100
    SpawnList Categories Reloaded
    ---------------------------------------------

I tried with the newer libEQ.a and got same issue.
Not sure what the deal is.
It opens seq and runs in radar mode, with maps and unknown mobs and npcs running around.

    any suggestions?

decryption doesn't officially work with 3.1.2, and 3.1.2 is not "officially" supported anymore.

move on to version 4 ("showeq" module from CVS, not "linux").

    The current md5sum of libEQ.a (31/Dec/01): 4e9d9772132fc63ea8860cc2fdb2905d
and this libEQ will only work with showeq version 4. you'll find a helpful guide by zaphod in these forums to help you get it running.
